Hesitantly she nodded, for words could not escape her mouth. How did she know to trust this creature? In all of the tales she had heard of this place no one has ever mentioned him--or at least lived to tell about it. Her eyes shot from tree to tree and beyond, trying to just grasp her surroundings. While she stood gazing around the forest, Chaka's eyes focused on her face. Movement was everywhere; she could see shadows creep around in the background of the forest.
"We must go now."
She walked a little behind Chaka but still kept up. She could feel him adjust his pace for her small feet and skepticism. They have been walking for a short while. Still in silence.
The shades of colors have shifted in the forest, she noticed. Unfamiliar sounds came from up ahead.
Chaka turned around to face her and paused......
